Ray Mackereth is the publishing editor (owner) of Qnews with well over 19 years’ industry experience. He started QNews in the year 2000. He found a need for a positive, supportive publication for gay and lesbian people. Day-to-day, Ray organises clients, staff and all the things in between. Ray also works with over 120 community groups providing knowledge, marketing and assistance for groups in our community.  Ray has dedicated much of his life to worthwhile causes such as youth suicide prevention and works with many groups plus government departments to achieve outcomes in this area.  He ran the queer Briz31 TV show Mind Your Bs & Qs. Ray also has ties to other local business ventures. He has a penchant for bad jokes and sometimes listens to classical music, but likes all types of music including rock and dance.  He has created and assisted in the creation of many events like Big Gay Day and is the drive behind supporting many worthy charities and organisations.  He has a great sense of social justice and has worked with many organisations to improve life for GLBTI people over the last 20+ years.  He is Australia's longest running gay and lesbian publisher.
