Instead of being hard at work in the office, the staff at QNews were piss farting around the other day looking at fun things online when we stumbled upon the best things about being a lesbian on Aussie girls website http://wimmin.gayau.com. The website looks as though it hasn’t been updated for a number of years but is chock full of good stuff – certainly worth a look!

 

And without any further adieu, “Top 10 best things about being a Lesbian...”  (That ended up being 15 *grin*)

1 -You fall in love and double your wardrobe.
2 -Feeling the softness of a woman’s skin.
3 -Enjoying the sensitivity and kinship of other lesbians and gays.
4 -Being a par t of an evolving, diverse, colourful, inspirational and creative worldwide community/family.
5 -Increased self esteem from living honestly.
6 -You don’t have to shave, style your hair, paint your nails or conform to any of that society-induced bullshit if you don’t feel like it.
7 -When you have your period, your partner can empathise, rather than patronise.
8 -The sex!
9 -Feeling the deep emotional bond that is reciprocated.
10 -Your partner is able to understand, intrinsically, what is it to be female and be subjected to sexism, and she’s most likely a feminist too.
11 -Being outside the ‘mainstream’.
12 -Shocking and confronting people with their own prejudices.
13 -The opportunity to proudly participate in Mardi Gras, Gay Pride and Community events.
14 -Cuddling, holding and caressing, and not just as ‘foreplay’
15 -Experiencing a relationship, and deep love, on so many levels... Emotional, Spiritual, Romantic, Sexual and Friendship, with your par tner.

And the worst:
1 -We’re still fighting for our basic civil rights.
2 -Men ‘getting of f’ on the idea of your sexual orientation **ewwww!!**
3 -Having to ‘out’ yourself constantly.
4 -Never knowing ‘for sure’ if someone you’re talking to is also gay.
