Banned Gay Poster icon Michael will lead Brisbane Pride Festival rally & march through the streets of Fortitude Valley this Saturday.  Last week saw a series of safe sex posters removed from billboards across Brisbane.  tens of thousands of people reacted against the shock decision bought about by protests from a handful of ultra conservative christian lobby.  The incident and facebook protest was highlighted by Channel 7s Sunrise program and subsequently attracted the attention of people Australia wide.

Michael has been asked by Brisbane Pride Festival BPF, to lead their March this Saturday June 11th.. BPF The call is out to rally as many people and to gather in Alden Street, Fortitude Valley ate the rear of the Wickham Hotel, where after a few short speeches people will march through the streets with placards and protest all things homophobic. Rumour has it one local politician is about to call for a petition against what has been labelled "legal gay murder" a law referred to as the homosexual panic defence. 

BPF website states "Bring your placards, bring your banners, bring your children, bring your dogs, bring your parents, bring your friends to hear leaders of our community speak about the issues that are important to us.

Following the rally you can join a thousands of the GLBTI community and our supporters as we take to the streets and march along a brand new route to the Qnews Carnivale at Perry Park.

As always the Dykes on Bikes will lead the parade with community groups, friends and family dancing, marching, protesting and parading through the Valley. Lets stop the traffic, but kick start a new era of awareness and acceptance.

The rally will start in Alden St. behind the Wickham Hotel at 10am followed by our 20 minute march to Brisbane Carnivale FAIR DAY at Perry Park.
