In only its second year Coffs Harbour’s LGBT festival CoastOut has been recognised for their community efforts by being awarded Community Event of the Year at the region’s Australia Day Awards.

The award was accepted by CoastOut founder Todd Buttery (pictured) on behalf of an incredibly hard working team, describing the community response as “overwhelming.”

CoastOut is a three day LGBT festival that encompasses a combination of parties, community forums, outdoor beach activities, a fair day and community events. It is also the first beach festival of its kind in Australia.

This year’s CoastOut will be held from October 26-28.
