. Cairns gay & lesbian business networking group Fruitloops is one of the true shining lights in the North Queensland LGBT community. It's monthly get togethers always attract a healthy crowd, but now the group of like minded business people is seeking new leadership.
The organisation is currently run and organised by Gigi Legenhausen (and partner Andrea), managers of the Pink Flamingo Resort Port Douglas. But due to the location, living in Port Douglas, and holding the meetings in Cairns it’s becoming very difficult, especially in high season for the couple to hold the meetings.
Legenhausen told QNews that she was still keen to be involved with the running of the group, but the time had come to had over the reigns.
“We would love a dedicated person to hold these meetings for us,” Legenhausen said. “I’m still happy to maintain the website and mail out but need someone to host the meetings for us. This would be once a month (apart from January), every first Friday 5pm – 8pm, currently held at Buddha Bar Cairns.”
Fruitloops is a non-profit making community group hence there is no payment involved, however, any interested parties receive great exposure for a business person as well as meeting lots of people. The networking meetings have great potential and the right person should be able to expand in the way of presentations, talks or even workshop offers.
Fruitloops currently has a mailing list of over 200 people. Interested persons are encouraged to contact Gigi: Ph: 0419 213 228 or 0400 767 367 and e-mail: info@pinkflamingo.com.au
