SONGS FOR NODOBY AND EVERYBODY

It's been described as the most uplifting and moving theatrical experience of 2011, Songs For Nobodies is a new play by Joanna Murray-Smith and written for Bernadette Robinson.

The premise is 5 separate monologues about 5 ordinary women who have brushes with 5 iconic singers – Judy Carland, Patsy Cline, Edith Piaf, Maria Callas and Bille Holiday. The show completely sold out in both Sydney and Melb and is doing return seasons after Brisbane before going to the US.

Robinson transforms to bring to life each nobody and each legendary singer. Her voice shifts from the smoky blues of Billie Holiday to the thrilling soprano of Maria Callas, via Garland, Cline and Piaf, with consummate ease.

Songs For Nobodies is a Melbourne Theatre Company Production and is produced by Harley Medcalf from Duet Entertainment. The show is running from 10 – 20 November at Brisbane Powerhouse. Go to www.brisbanepowerhouse.org or phone 07 3358 8600.
