TIM FINN – THE VIEW IS WORTH THE CLIMB Tim’s style has come a long, long way since his Split Enz prime. His music is now humble (very slow), mellow, more poetic and love symbolic and not at all fast tempo’d or rock as juxtaposed with his much earlier work. Finn seems to exploit how content he is (in relationships I am assuming) that you find his album is somewhat to wind down to –definitely not for the dance demographic but more the indie, laid back crowd. Plenty of songs such as Opposite Sign, Everybody’s wrong and most other tracks featured on the side b listing even incorporates country elements. Megan Washington teamed up with Tim to create the title track ‘The View Is Worth The Climb’ and this track is probably the standout on this album but again adopts a down paced, positive vibe love song. If a fan of Tim’s recent album releases this album will be musical candy but if purchasing this compilation in the hope for another ‘I See Red,’ ‘Bold As Brass,’ ‘I Hope I Never’ ect hit – prepared to be educated
