For the Bible Tells Me So

Once again it’s time to get smart and political! This documentary isn’t like most of the religious grand slamming I’ve come across. For those who aren’t familiar, in the Bible; Leviticus speaks of man lying with mankind as with woman kind as an “abomination”. Gasp if only I had known before now maybe I would have slepped on the couch after I had sex with my husband!

Chronicling the many ways in which religion and the bible have been used to discriminate against minorities, this film seeks to deconstruct the scriptures and show the truth about a situation. What else was an abomination? Who else is an abomination? Are these people punished also? With interviews from all sides including those on the forefront fighting for gay rights; families destroyed by the notion that their gay offspring are eternally damned; and even those who firmly believe that we should all be rounded up and killed. This film is a necessary experience for gays and their families for sure. Sometimes education is the key to understanding, and understanding is certainly what this one promotes.
