Calling all artists!
This year, Brisbane Pride Festival will feature an exhibition of works by local GLBT individuals to be shown at a gallery in Woolloongabba from June 1 - 30.
All forms of visual art including painting, drawing and sculpture are welcome and emerging and established artists are invited to register their interest by emailing info@pridebrisbane.org.au.
Pride organisers are also looking for musicians and entertainers to perform on Pride Fair Day. The committee is in still in the planning stages, and are looking for performers of all styles. There will also be an unplugged stage, so if you want to get out there and get known, then maybe this will be the place for you.
All entrtainers and artists are encouraged to become involved in the festival, as well as people with suggestions and ideas for new events. Brisbane Pride representative, Kylie Mitchell told QNews, “Last year we added a few new events to the calendar, and this year we are hoping to grow those and add more. If people have an idea for an event, be it music, theatre, art or other, we would love to hear from them. This is your festival so please help it grow.”
All people with suggestions for the 2009 Pride Festival and those interested in performing or exhibiting their artwork are encouraged to contact Kylie at info@pridebrisbane.org.au.
