KE$HA COMING TO AUSTRALIA
By Les Smith

Worldwide pop sensation Ke$ha has been confirmed to visit Australia from 20 – 25th March as part of a promotional visit which includes an exclusive TV performance on So You Think You Can Dance and promotion in Sydney & Melbourne. The Australian public have been quick to embrace Ke$ha – she currently has two singles and one album in the Top 5 ARIA charts. The first single off the album, ‘TiK ToK’ spent 8 consecutive weeks at #1, has been certified 3 x platinum and spent 5 weeks at #1 on the National Airplay chart. Her current single ‘Blah Blah’ is currently at #4 and is certified gold.
Her debut album ‘Animal’, released 4 weeks ago and now certified Gold came in at #4 on the ARIA album chart and has spent the last 4 weeks in the Top 5. Ke$ha has also been enjoying huge success around the world with ‘Animal’ debuting at #1 in the US and Canadian album charts. ‘Animal’, which was co-produced by Dr. Luke and features Ke$ha’s collaborations with veteran hitmaker Max Martin (Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears) and in-demand songwriter/producer Benny Blanco (Katy Perry, 3OH!3, Spank Rock).
Ke$ha, who co-wrote every track on the album, describes ‘Animal’ as “electro pop magic,” and indeed the album is an edgy collection of hard-hitting electro-pop songs, made all the more irresistible by their high-octane punk energy and Ke$ha’s frank lyrics and irreverent attitude. “I want my music to be fun, unapologetic, rowdy, quirky, humorous, and interesting,” she says, “but with substance behind it. I’m an emotional person underneath all my fronting. I want people to listen to it and feel like they can relate.”
