QAHC ‘FOOD FOR THOUGHT GATHERINGS’

Gay men’s relationships, sexual pleasures and the male sexual body, cruising places to meet other men for social, sexual and romantic needs ...all these topics are food for thought.

QAHC is trying to tempt your appetite for stimulating conversation over a meal with like minded men.

Dave Wells, QAHC’s Group Work & Counselling Co-ordinator said that the opportunity for gay men in many regional areas to meet and spend time socially can be scarce. “ Food for thought provides the chance to share a meal and hear the experiences of other men who are sexually attracted to men. This opportunity for sharing thoughts can result in men discovering that their experiences aren’t always that different to those of other men.”

“Over a breakfast, lunch or dinner in specially selected safe and friendly spaces, Food for thought combines an exercise from QAHC’s popular group programs followed by men having the chance to discuss the issues further from personal experiences.” Wells said. “Food for Thought Gatherings are planned to run in Brisbane and a number of regional towns in the near future. If your local gathering proves popular they could happen on a regular, say monthly basis.”

Local ‘Food for Thought Gatherings’ will be promoted widely and men can register their interest by going to the ‘Get involved’ – ‘Workshops’ section on the
QAHC Web site (www.qahc.org.au/),
or by phoning QAHC reception on1800 177 434 (07 3017 1777).
