Performer, Todd McKenny has announced that he had approached his Dancing with the Stars colleague Sonia Kruger to be the mother of his second child.
The openly gay entertainer already has one child - a daughter conceived through IVF with a female friend in 2007.
McKenny and Kruger's friendship goes back 26 years to when the pair first met in Perth, both aged 17.
Over the years, the pair have remained close working on many projects together. They currently co-host the breakfast program on Sydney radio station Mix 106.5, work together on Dancing with the Stars and they both featured in Baz Luhrmann's 1992 film Strictly Ballroom.
Kruger has not come to a decision yet, but in an interview with The Australian Women's Weekly, she admitted that she was seriously considering the option.
"The thing about Todd is that I know he would be the greatest support to me, which is what you need if you are to go ahead and have children,"
McKenny also told the magazine that he did not want Kruger to feel compelled to go through with it but confirmed that it was a very real offer.
"I would only do this again with someone I truly care about, so I have asked Sonia to have a child with me and sort of left it (the idea) hanging there," he said.
"I don't want to pressure her, but I am serious.''
