CYPRUS – CIVIL UNIONS ON THE WAY


Cyprus’ ruling party has approved a same-sex civil partnerships bill this month and will now take it to the nation’s parliament. The bill is expected to pass and will offer same-sex couples all marriage rights except the right to adoption. Asked whether society was ready for civil partnerships, Interior Minister Socratis Hasikos said: “I am sure it is, since this was society’s demand.”
