Unlike other magazines we are proudly Queenslander and include the Northern Rivers NSW region. QNews is fully produced, written, edited, printed and owned by Queenslanders. We have around 400 distribution outlets and are growing fast. Most of the distribution is off scene with only 8% of people picking up QNews at gay lesbian venues. We truly communicate with city, suburban, fringe and people in regional cities and towns. Q

News was the first gay newspaper to publish the entire printed version of the paper on the internet in Australia and our online readers continue to grow. this also helps us to service remote Queensland. QNews has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars since it began and continues to work with many community groups to tackle serious issues such as youth suicide, HIV prevention, domestic violence, discrimination and we are pro-active when it comes to improving services to our community. We even set up a website where people can find people like themselves and to allow community groups to help and refer to each other. the iste is completely FREE and slef serve for groups who can add and change their details at anytime instantly, after the initial approval.

The Q People are a fantastic bunch of people that number around 30 and are committed to producing informative, fun information and news to keep you up to date with what’s happening in this part of the globe. The Q People share a vision of making this world a better place and they are a mixture of full, part time and volunteers. The new website is made possible by a great bunch of people from Glass Obelisk and we are grateful for their effort and the past support of my247.com.au for many years. QNews is always evolving and helping to create new and exciting events working with our community. Events such as Big Gay Day (Charity Fundraiser), Aqualicious, Tropical Fruits, White Wolf, Queens Ball, Random, Corium, Northern Exposure, 2020 GLBT Summit, Brisbane Pride Festival, Fluffy Festival, Mardi Gras, OUT Gaymes Montreal, OUT Gaymes Pacific Melbourne, FEAST Festival Adelaide, Open Doors Dance Parties for under 18s, plus hundreds more have all benefited from QNews' help and assistance over the years. QNews has encouraged every event organiser to donate a portion of their door to worthy G&L charities and organisations. QNews works extensively with around 109 community groups such as QAHC, Open Doors and the Gay and Lesbian Counselling service (GLWA) to assist their endeavours and to help improve LGBT resources. We are proud of our many many achievements over our 9 year history thanks to our fab loyal team who make it possible.
QNews has also assisted many businesses communicate their message to people. There is no other way of communicating with as many GLBT people in Qld and Northern NSW than by using the many resources of QNews advertising and website mediums. Many businesses have had very successful campaigns thanks to the support of QNews and the response from our loyal readers that has taken years to establish. There is also a fun side to QNews ... if you are going to raise money for a worthy cause then you may as well have fun doing it. Hence the first major event QNews created was Big Gay Day that Queensland has adopted and supports every year.
Most importantly QNews would not exist if it were not for the support of our loyal readers who are always ready to feed information back both good and bad over the last 10 years. Our readers are second to none and around 112,000 people read QNews every fortnight including the printed and the online website version of the paper.
