An ad from Australian Marriage Equality stole the show during Thursday night’s finale of Channel Ten reality show The Bachelor.
The ad urged Australia’s to vote yes ‘for every Bachelor and Bachelorette’ and featured real wedding footage contributed by members of the LGBTI community set to a cover of Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over”.
The Equality Campaign’s Tim Gartrell said the ad time was generously donated by The Bachelor sponsor Wrigley’s Extra.
“Opportunities like this really help the campaign cut-through all the noise around Marriage Equality which is simply about dignity, respect and fairness for LGBTI Australians,” he said.
“Australians know this is about a fair go for all and allowing people to just get on with their lives with the person they love.”
