Racy queer cabaret Boy&Girl is coming back to Brisbane for a brand new season.

Following several sold-out runs, the Oscar Theatre Company are bringing the home-grown show to The Tivoli in Brisbane with an all-new season of musical theatre, pop music and spectacle “bursting with bare flesh, naughty words, bright lights, show tunes, cheap gags, glitter and a whole lot of sex appeal.”

This year, Boy&Girl features a live band and an ensemble of over 25 singers, dancers and specialty acts. Returning to the stage are drag performer Miss Poodle, Josh Daveta, Monique Louise, the beautiful boylesque trio and many more.

“This year, Boy&Girl has whipped up a stimulating fusion of musical theatre, cabaret, circus and pop all jammed into an electric evening where the performance literally comes to your table or serves you a drink behind the bar,” the show’s director Emily Gilhome said.

“Boy&Girl is an inviting, inclusive space… Our cabaret queers are taking over The Tivoli and it’s awesome seeing the old dame converted back to her former glory as a stunning cabaret club.”

She said the show is brimming with a diverse range of artists including singers, dancers, musicians, acrobats, aerialists and specialty acts including fire, pole, burlesque and drag.

“All of our performers are originally from Brisbane. Many have worked internationally and BOY&GIRL is a great hub for them to return home and perform in their home town,” she said.

“Our boys in heels number is super hot this year and the girls we have are so strong as an ensemble.

“There’s an item in which they support Miss Poodle in a full Broadway jazz number and it is totally fierce.”

Boy&Girl is playing at The Tivoli for July 26. For more details, visit the Tivoli website here. See a preview of the show below:
