And the winner is?
Well, winners, actually. AFLW stars Moana Hope and Erin Phillips were all dressed up as they stepped out with their girlfriends for Monday night’s Brownlow Medal count.
Moana and her model partner Isabella Carlstrom lovingly linked arms and posed for the cameras on the red carpet, Moana wearing a tailored tuxedo while Isabella donned an ball gown.
Adelaide Crows player Erin Phillips, who won the inaugural AFLW best and fairest earlier this year, also dominated the red carpet with her partner Tracy Gahan.
The AFL’s “night of nights” came under controversy last week when their sign outside headquarters was changed “temporarily” to “Yes” to make a stance on same-sex marriage.
TV host Sam Newman went ballistic as to why the statement was both “inappropriate” and “irrelevant” to the AFL.
Little wonder why Sam, a noted buffoon, was nowhere to be seen while the cameras were flashing on the red carpet.
Not only did the girls make a fashion statement, they also sent a beautiful message about why a “Yes” stance is actually very relevant to the AFL.
No more words required – they said it all without even opening their mouths!
For the record, Richmond star Dustin Martin won the Brownlow with a record 36 votes, three more than last year’s winner Patrick Dangerfield.
I couldn't be more excited or more grateful to walk the red carpet with the girl of my dreams. THANKYOU, for you being you and for all the light you've brought to my life.
