Cher has signed up to sing some of ABBA’s iconic hits in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the upcoming sequel to 2008 movie Mamma Mia.
She’ll play the role of Donna’s mother, the New York Post has reported.
Meryl Streep played Donna in the original movie, and Cher is thought to feature in flashback sequences in the film alongside “Cinderella” actress Lily James, who’ll play a younger version of Donna.
The film has ABBA members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus on board as executive producers, and will feature some of the legendary pop group’s songs that weren’t in the original.
Cher, prolific tweeter that she is, has been leaking details all week about her first film role since 2010’s Burlesque.
