Britney Spears has confirmed to People Magazine she’ll be dropping a new single on May 5. Although the track’s title is still unknown, People revealed the track will be the Iggy Azalea collaboration that the Australian rapper has been excitedly teasing since November last year. Brit also told Billboard magazine in early March that while she is working on follow-up to her underwhelming 2013 album Britney Jean, the project was “not a priority” and her children came first.
But before that collab, Iggy teamed with Dreamgirls legend Jennifer Hudson for “Trouble,” a sassy, Motown-inspired jam with a 1970s cops and robbers-themed video.
Former Will and Grace star Sean Hayes recently posted an adorable video online of him and his husband Scott Icenogle lip syncing for their lives to the track. The video can be viewed on Sean’s Facebook page. The happy pair got married in November last year after eight years together, Sean shared on his Facebook at the time.
Disco icon Nile Rodgers has released the video for his band Chic’s comeback song “I’ll Be There” online. The new track will appear on the band’s first album in 25 years, expected in June and featuring the likes of contemporary dance heavyweights David Guetta, Avicii and Nicky Romero. Nile Rodgers collaborated with Daft Punk on the 2013 megahit “Get Lucky” but decades earlier founded the group Chic in 1976, and penned 1979 disco classic “We Are Family” for Sister Sledge, among other classics. In February this year Chic’s signature song “Le Freak” was inducted into the 2015 Grammy Hall of Fame.
UK rapper M.I.A. has slammed “jealous” ex Diplo in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. M.I.A. says the dance producer, whom she dated for five years, tried to control her early career. The rapper told the magazine: “When I got signed by [record label] Interscope, he literally smashed my hotel room and broke all the furniture because he was so angry I got picked up by a major label and it was the corniest thing in the world that could possibly happen… I wish I enjoyed it because I had this person on my shoulder the whole time saying, ‘It’s s**t … You shouldn’t be on the charts. … You should be an underground artist.’ It’s only now when I look back at it in 2015, I can see that he was just jealous and he couldn’t wait to be Taylor Swift’s best friend and date Katy Perry. But at that time, I believed him.” But the day after the interview, the magazine claims, the fractious pair mended fences, swapping playful selfies on social media.
They haven’t seen eye-to-eye over the years but Madonna had Elton John’s back in Dolce and Gabbana’s messy “traditional families” controversy. Fashion designer Dolce angered Sir Elton when he described children born through surrogacy and IVF as “synthetic,” but Madonna had Elt’s back. “All babies contain a soul however they come to this earth and their families,” she wrote on Instagram. “There is nothing synthetic about a soul!! So how can we dismiss IVF and surrogacy? We are arrogant to think Man does anything on his own. As above so below! Think before you speak.”
