LA SOIRÉE CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY AT QPAC

Celebrating their ten year anniversary La Soiree will celebrate by bringing their heady cocktail of cabaret, new burlesque, circus sideshow and contemporary variety to Brisbane’s QPAC this month.

La Soiree is a theatrical phenomenon which has won devoted fans all over the world, including a sell out season in Brisbane last year. Offering a unique and inspirational night of live entertainment, La Soiree is pretty much the crème de la crème of the cabaret world.

QPAC’s Playhouse Theatre will be specially reconfigured for the show, allowing every audience member to be right up close to the stage, almost within touching distance of the performers.

This Brisbane season cast includes the awe-inspiring aerial gymnast Bath Boy, the leather-bursting reincarnation of Freddie Mercury Mario Queen of the Circus, the tap dancing, roller skating, razor sharp machete juggling Nate Cooper, the sassy physical comedienne with a cute-as-a-button demeanour Jess Love, and the sexual gentleman and overall bon vivant Asher Treleaven.

Also not to be missed is the amazing English Gents, Denis Lock and Hamish McCann (pictured). These two are delightfully devilish and cordial “English gentlemen” who perform inconceivable feats of acrobatic skill, strength and balance, whilst casually puffing a pipe, reading the newspaper and sporting the stiffest of British upper lips. Their act mixes their highly skilled feats with a dry English wit, unexpectedly climaxing with the two hilariously baring near-all for Queen and country and in the process displaying more pure sex appeal than ever before seen under a bowler hat. And as for Hamish McCann’s one-of-a-kind pole routine, let’s just say it’s sure to leave you ‘feeling good’…

La Soiree will play at the Playhouse (in the round), QPAC until 24 May. Tickets are available via www.qpac.com.au or call 136 246.
