Sir Elton John has revealed more details about his upcoming 33rd studio album, titled Wonderful Crazy Night.
“It’s like a throwback to the 70s, but sounding even punchier. It’s a rock ‘n’ roll record – uptempo, joyous. I’m thrilled,” Elton told the Associated Press on the red carpet at a recent benefit held by his charity, the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
“T-Bone Burnett and I produced (it), my band play on it. I can’t wait to start promoting it.”
Elton has previously announced he co-wrote the album with longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin.
He also reunited with drummer Nigel Olsson, from his original three-piece group, and guitarist Davey Johnstone, with whom he first worked in 1971.
The album is due to be released on February 5 next year, and Elton released lead single “Looking Up” in October
